Climate control
This week I decided to take it easy on myself. Let's call it a recovery week from training. I still don't know what
I'm training for by the way. As you well know the heat and humidity has been stifling over the last month.
I took it inside to the treadmill for the first time in a long while. Ohhh, it was so nice! The air temp was around 75 and
a slight breeze(the fan) blowing in my face. What a refief it was. I should do this more often. I have heard stories of people
training for marathons on treadmills exclusively. For me it was a nice change and I think I'll be back again in a few
weeks.

Put this in your favorites!
No, we will never see another Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong or even a Michael Jordan. Last night I stayed up way past
my bedtime to watch the final of the men's 4X100 freestyle relay in Bejing(especially after some earlier smack talking
going on by another team). Put this one down. Add it to your favorites.

I love the Olympics!

Stop and listen....
I'm sure there's a number of you out there in preparation for fall and winter marathon and half marathons. I'm
a firm believer that if you can train through the July, August and September heat of Florida you can go anywhere and have
great results. The big problem we all have is just getting through these next few months of training. Mileage increases,
the temperature doesn't and we start to feel tired and burned out all the time. Stop! Not running that is. One of the
great attributes of good athletes is being in tune with they're own body and recognizing there are days they
will need to slow it down, get more rest or take corrective measures on pre and post workout nutrition. Afterall, we are ALL
good athletes! No one knows your own body better than you. Be able to stop, listen and respond to what your body is telling
you.
Have a blessed day!

Finding Praise in times of trouble.......
O.K.! I've had some not so good days in the past but this one is only half way over.
First, I was preparing
for a bike ride this morning and in looking for my ipod noticed it missing from my bag. Last time I saw it? At the Y yesterday
before going swimming with the girls. Called the Y and NO ipod. Praise God that they took my $150 ipod instead of my $240
polar hrm.
Secondly, still steaming a little over the Ipod I went for a bike ride and broke a spoke. Praise
God that I broke it pulling into the neighborhood
after my ride.
And Third! This is the kicker. We received
a phone call this morning from an anonymous person claiming to have some camera's at they're house charged to my credit
card. Identity theft! Praise God this good samaritan called us and we've taken the necessary measures to stop anything
in the future. It could of been alot worse.
Don't let life's little circumstances get in the way
or slow you down.
Life is still good!

Tour de what?
Another Tour de France is here and half way through another doping scandal hits the Tour. I can appreciate the efforts to
clean up the sport but I don't think we'll ever see another Tour where no one get's caught doping. Unfortunately
there will always be a few bad apples on the tree. I can only sit in amazement at what these guys are doing. 21 stages
in 23 days and almost 2500 kilometers. Call them genetic freaks of nature(which some of them are) or genetically altered(which
recent doping scandal have proven). The climbs and speeds these guys are travelling just blows my mind. Doping scandals or
not I'll always have some appreciation for what these guys go through.
